Prime Constructions have delivered the overall logistics centre which includes Buildings 1, 1A and 1B. The project was challenged by softer ground conditions on the site which required bored piers on which steel portal frames we re-erected. Precast concrete dado panels were then installed after which metal roofing and wall cladding was installed. Once the envelope of the building was closed, the internal fibre concrete slabs were poured. The main offices are constructed using a tilt up construction method. As the capacity of the existing stormwater drainage system is limited, a 3,000,000-litre on-site stormwater detention (OSD) system has been incorporated in the design to reduce the impact on the adjacent creek. The OSD tank has been constructed to manage the stormwater for all three warehouses totalling a little over 60,000m2.The tank has a storage capacity of 3.5m litres and feeds into two Gross Pollutant Traps (GPT) which ensure the water is cleaned before being discharged into the adjacent council stormwater channel.
Achievements:
- Large on-site stormwater detention tanks
- Design of 4 Buildings
